More often than not, the art people bring me really touches my heart. How wonderful to see what others love and want for their homes. This piece was an oil painting from Afghanistan brought home by a friend and a veteran. It had been rolled up for some time and the canvas had been creased and damaged. With PERMISSION, I was able to mix oil paint to match the man’s turban, face and shadows, and restore the painting before putting it in its frame. I like to think of that, my friends, as artistic collaboration! I am sure the Afghan artist would do the same for me. I love a good story and art is worth a thousand words.
